The Seven Careers We Must Graduate From

Introduction

Human eyesight is something very beautiful that God has bestowed upon us humans. We can see the world around us, our families, the colors, nature, etc. etc. But did you know that we really have four eyes? No, I’m not making fun of you eyeglass users, it is our MIND, it is like eyes when you come to “think” of it. Our physical eyes see physical things, but the “MIND’S EYES” cannot SEE, unless God removes the “BLINDNESS” (ignorance).

Everywhere you look you see all the creation clearly with your physical eyes, but the mind does not “SEE” or understand the bigger purpose or meaning behind it all. That is where God must come in and HE must remove the “BLINDNESS” in order for us to see the spiritual things (the way that HE sees things) Psalms 119:12. We must remember that the physically blinded persons that are recorded in the Gospels, CAME UNTO CHRIST! They pleaded with Him so that they would be healed in order to receive sight and see, we too must have this attitude towards God so that we may receive understanding. Once we “SEE” we still have our human nature that will “CLOUD UP” our spiritual vision. Being of flesh our mind has a tendency to like what our physical eyes “SEE,” we must be very careful as to what we “see” around us!

We (the Church of God), are being trained so that we may also heal others! Yes, we have that power now but we cannot force anyone to live in God’s way of life. But it will be used very soon when we will teach all humanity in the kingdom of God, thus we will be “OPENING” their “MENTAL EYES.” I “SEE” that the Church of God is like a college or university where we are learning highly demanding careers and SOON will be “graduating.”  I know that you the saints of the living God can “SEE” more than I, for my “eyes” have just begun to “SEE.” I wish to share the following with you as I began to “see” a little bit as to what I’m supposed to be doing from now on.

The Seven Careers We Must Graduate From

1) PILOT: a person qualified to direct a vessel on its course or path to its destination.

A pilot is a very highly trained professional, usually going through many years of school and training also having many hours of practice flight time culminating in earning their “wings.” In their duties they follow the laws which successfully guide them to their destination, the laws of aviation and aerodynamics. If a pilot deviates in any form or way from these laws they simply do not reach their destination or crash and burn.

Just as a pilot follows rules and regulations to successfully guide them to the destination, those who are called by God must also follow rules or laws. God’s laws are the ones which will guide us to our destination-eternal life. They are the coordinates that have been given to us to follow (Exodus 20, Leviticus 23 and Matthew 4:4).

This is what we must be training in for all the days of our lives, “Blessed are the undefiled in THE WAY, WHO WALK in the law of the Lord” Psalm 119:1. David knew “the way” he pleaded unto God, “Teach me, O Lord, THE WAY of thy statutes;  and I will keep it unto the END. Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart. Make me to go in THE PATH of thy Commandments….” Psalm 119: 33- 35.

In the New Testament the answer is given as to where this PATH or WAY is to take us, a young man came unto Christ asking HIM a certain question. “And, behold, one came and said unto Him, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?” Jesus’ answer to him was, “but if thou wilt enter into life KEEP the Commandments” Matthew 19:16-17. That which Christ says and promises is sure. All we have to do is our part, that is we must set our mind “on this path” until “END”- the end of our lives that is. Christ further says, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, if a man KEEPS my saying, he will never see death” John 8:51. We are to be well-qualified, in our case it is with the word of God, we are to strive to live by every word on the path of life!

We will be tested by trials, and the ride will sometimes get rough and bumpy, but thanks be to God for His great law of liberty which will guide us as to where we are to go. If we reject God’s way we know there will be consequences, we will crash and burn! That has been manifested very clearly by the history of this God rejecting world we live in. Even professing Christians say, “We do not need to train nor need these laws in order to have life,”  that is why they crash and burn- Proverbs 14:12. So we must keep on studying and training, and PUT IT TO THE TEST, because we must navigate through this life in this world where out of nowhere will come many bumpy moments along the “WAY.” So if we want to reach our final “destination”- LET’S BE WISE PILOTS, LET’S FOLLOW THE LAWS AND RULES TO LAND ON THE SIDE OF LIFE!

2) PHYSICIAN: a doctor of medicine that diagnoses and treats an illness or diseases in a sick person, prescribing or doing something to correct it.

To be a physician one must study for many years and study a lot concerning what they will be combating during all of their career, illnesses, diseases and their symptoms. Physicians recognize an illness or disease by their symptoms and we too are caught up in this situation.

The following is a scenario that today frightens health experts around the world. A killer epidemic wipes out an entire city in a year, experts say that within three years the entire earth will be affected by this epidemic culminating in the end of the human race. Such a scenario is often played out in Hollywood movies prompting many to say, “it can happen if we are not careful as a human race.” Sound grim you say? Worse has happened! There has been a disease that has wiped out anywhere from 10 to 20 billion human beings- with the exception of ONE! No, I’m not talking about another science fiction story on a faraway planet or movie that is soon to hit the big screen, it is a story that has happened right here on this Earth! It has affected all humanity for the past 6000 years, the name of the disease is called SIN. It was first contracted by our first human parents Adam and Eve, “Wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned” Romans 5:12.

This is why we must be as a physician, but there is something else- we are the patient that needs the cure, if we do not combat this “disease”we will die forever (Revelation 20:15). The apostle Paul knew of this disease (Romans 7:6-25), he had the pain symptoms of it as a matter fact and correctly diagnosed it! We as “physicians,” must study and learn all the symptoms of this disease, we must do as Paul told us-“EXAMINE YOURSELVES, whether you be in the faith, PROVE YOURSELVES” II Corinthians 13:5.

Just as any other disease, sin can spread affecting others so we must not afflict others with sin. Also as we go out into the world around us we are warned to wear our “protective body suit”- the armor of God (Ephesians 6). We have our part to do, “For there is no respect of persons with God. For as many as have sinned without the law shall also perish without law; and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law. For not the hearers of the law are just before God, BUT THE DOERS OF THE LAW SHALL BE JUSTIFIED” Romans 2:11-13. Repenting daily is the first step in healing this evil affliction. Soon the originator and main carrier of this disease will be removed from the face of the earth (Satan and his demons) and all who spread it, Revelation 20:1-3.  Afterwards humanity will be rid of all its sufferings when the kingdom of God is administered throughout the entire earth, and we will help heal the afflicted. This is what we shall do for them,  “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, this is the way, walk ye in it…” Isaiah 30:21. Will we examine and cure this disease in us to be there? God is right, His the law of love is the cure! We just have to “SEE OURSELVES” as we really are, sick sinners who need the cure of God- that is the mind of God through His Holy Spirit! SO LET’S BE WISE PHYSICIANS, LET’S DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND LET’S TAKE OUR MEDICINE!

3) ENGINEER:  an expert in design and construction having many years of training, using as well tact, craft, knowledge and ingenuity to achieve results.

We the Church of God must also learn spiritual lessons from this career during our lifetime. An engineer designs and plans before starting to build, in the same manner we have been given a task to build or construct something. We must use knowledge (the Word of God), and ingenuity (God’s wisdom) in order to achieve our task. What is it? Let’s see what Christ has to say about this construction we are to undertake. He said, “Therefore whosoever hears these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a ROCK: and the rains descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat coupon the house, AND IT FELL NOT: FOR IT WAS FOUNDED UPON A ROCK” Matthew 7:24-25.

It is nothing more than holy righteous character! Of course this character must come from God, but we have “our part to do” and “build” upon that “ROCK” (in similitude).  We must build this character by learning to reject our sinful human nature and false ways, as God “points out the flaws” to us. We have been told to also take account before hand, we are told, “For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and COUNTETH THE COST, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Lest haply, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, saying, this man began to build, and was not able to finish” Luke 14:28-30. Once the this work has been initiated there is no looking back to the world, self nor anyone else, and if another’s blueprint is used we will receive correction when the work is reviewed, Luke 12:47-48.

We must be wise and measure out the details of what is needed or lacking in our character, so we can get our “BUILDING” CONSTRUCTED- with God’s help. We also must remember Paul’s warning and admonishment to us about our “construction.” He said, “According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth  thereupon. BUT LET EVERY MAN TAKE HEED HOW HE BUILDETH THEREUPON. For other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he has built thereupon, he shall receive a reward” I Corinthians 3:10-14.  We are to“examine” ourselves and compare it to what we are to build from (the Word of Life), we can also look to the past results in Scriptures of those who undertook this “building project” and learn. In the NT we are given a “task” of walking on a road to take a journey and see the “houses” they built using the “materials” provided us. They ended up building seven varying cities as finalizations of what the elect are capable of building when given God’s “materials” and human nature interferes with this task.  We are told by one who walked and saw the road of Rev. 2&3, “Beloved believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world” I John 4:1. If we pass the “construction test” we can receive the greatest placement of becoming an eternal “pillar” the greatest helpers for God and maintaining His creation. We must hear His voice in order to build the proper “construction” (II Timothy 3:16-17).  SO LET’S BE WISE BUILDERS, LET’S LEARN TO BUILD UPON THAT ROCK!

4) AMBASSADOR: an official who represents their government in the capital of another country.

Ambassadors in their duties must represent their country or government, they must be tactful and know how to relate with the people they will be dealing with.

WE ARE AMBASSADORS!  Yes, we know this because Paul was inspired to write it! He said, “Now then WE ARE AMBASSADORS for Christ…” II Corinthians 5:20. We are representatives of a coming world government which will rule the entire world as it has been promised to us, “But the saints of the Most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever, even forever and ever” Daniel 7:18. We who are called out by God must represent this government by being an example to this dying world, Christ expects the following from us, “Let your LIGHT so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” Matthew 5:16. As ambassadors we are to conduct ourselves that way so, “That you may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, IN THE MIDST OF A CROOKED AND PERVERSE NATION, AMONG WHOM YOU SHINE AS LIGHTS TO THE WORLD” Philippians 2:15.

Also by observing all of God’s LAWS including the Sabbath and the Holy Days, we will be an example to this world the only peoples on this planet that observes them onto eternal life. The job does not come easy for us though, as we are warned beforehand, “Marvel not if THE WORLD HATE YOU” I John 3:13. Despite this hostile environment we are in we are told to take up the task at hand, “IN THE WORLD you shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer I have overcome the WORLD” John 16:33. The apostle Paul experienced persecution for preaching and living according to God’s way of life on this earth, of his experience he said, “For which I am an AMBASSADOR in bonds” Ephesians 6:20.

As we are in this foreign”nation” we are also told to, “LOVE NOT THE WORLD, neither the things that are IN  THE WORLD. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” I John 2:15. Because, “If you were of the WORLD, the world would LOVE HIS OWN; but because ye are NOT of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you” John 15:19. This is what Christ says about us as we are in existence in this world that we are not a part of. It is Satan that hates God’s way of life, and we are in his “territory.” In the near future war will break out against us because of the LIGHT that we have been given (Revelation 12: 7-17) the citizens of this “nation” hate us because of the message we bear (John 16: 2), it’s leader knows that his days are numbered. “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid” Matthew 5:14. Our God will finally soon restore to this earth that which was once upon it, and we will soon reign with Christ in that COMING KINGDOM.  We are to proclaim God’s message of mercy and light to let them know that their leader has lied to them and is leading them into harm. This is the task we are to carry out as ambassadors so that  peoples can become aware of this and let them know God has said, “Let there be light.” SO LET’S REMEMBER TO SHINE BRIGHTLY UNTO ALL THE WORLD TO BE AN EXAMPLE UNTO THEM!

5) SOLDIER: a person serving in an army trained in the knowledge of warfare, fighting for their country or government willing to give up their lives if necessary to defend it.

From this career we must also learn to be able to enter into the Kingdom of God. We must learn all the “tactics” of spiritual warfare in this present life.  Our mission and its objective is described in the first epistle of Timothy, “FIGHT the good FIGHT OF FAITH, LAY HOLD ON ETERNAL LIFE, whereunto thou art called….” (Verse 12).  We are soldiers of Jesus Christ who is the CAPTAIN of our salvation (Hebrews 2:10), and we have been given our “orders” to obey and if we survive the battle we will be rewarded by Him (Hebrews 5:9). As soldiers of God’s way of life (governance), we will soon be engaging in war versus the enemy (Satan and his servants), who has tried and is trying to blot out of this earth that government of the faith of God. The date of that word is uncertain but it is sure to happen soon,  “And the dragon was roth with the woman and went to make WAR with the remnant of her seed, WHICH KEEP the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ” Revelation 12:14. We enter this battle with specific orders to love of God and neighbor at all times.

Clear his name (Satan), describes who he is in relation to God and to us- he is our adversary. He and his demons will try to destroy us spiritually, but to prevent that we must use the armor God has given us to survive his attacks. We thus are told to, “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand AGAINST the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but AGAINST principalities, AGAINST powers, AGAINST the rulers of the darkness of this world, AGAINST spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. STAND therefore, having your loins girt about with TRUTH, and having the breastplate of RIGHTEOUSNESS;  And your feet shod with the preparation of the GOSPEL OF PEACE.  Above all, taking the shield of FAITH, wherewith  ye shall be able to quench all the FIERY DARTS of the wicked (one). And take the helmet of SALVATION, and SWORD of the spirit, which is the word of God” Ephesians 6:11-17.

This armor God has given us is the greatest in the history of warfare, nothing can penetrate it, unless we take any of it off or are LACKING ANY OF IT! Also our Captain has commanded to take an action that seems contrary to preparation for war readiness before we put on this armor. He said to first maim oneself by cutting off one’s right hand, foot and eye (Mark 9:43-47) that is spiritually in order to face the enemy- a strange battle tactic but the one to lead us to victory. The apostle Paul knew of this warfare that we are engaging in, he said, “Thou therefore ENDURE hardness (afflictions), as a good SOLDIER OF JESUS CHRIST, no man that WARRETH entangleth himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please Him who has chosen him to be a SOLDIER” II Timothy 2:3-4. We may have to give up our lives in the coming battle, but we need to have the attitude and valor of the past Church of God saints, in that “they loved not their lives unto death” (Revelation 12:11). “Who shall separate us from the love of God?” See Romans 8:35-39. Also remember that David was offered Saul’s armor in order to face Goliath- do not accept another’s if offered- there are imitations.  SO LET’S PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD, AND FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH.

6) NURSE: a person trained to take care of the sick or the infirm under the direction of a doctor.

A nurse is able to take care of the sick with selfless concern, they are able to “patiently” provide help in their needs. A nurse is kind, giving, compassionate, meek, humble, etc. etc… In their duties they will care for their patients needs, they will also administer (AS DIRECTED BY THE DOCTOR) when needed, MEDICINE to alleviate pain. Sometimes they will have to put up with rude uncaring patients, but they will most likely confront it having understanding. YES, a spiritual nurse we are to be.

Likewise we will have to conduct ourselves with humility and kindness for the sake of peace (Matthew 5:1-12), with each other and with all those in the world who live contrary to God’s way of life. We must endure all wrongs  with the attitude of  UNDERSTANDING as we are commanded in Matthew 5:38-48. That is the MEDICINE God wants us to administer to our fellow mankind.  We MUST do this because it is God’s way of life, it is the “cure” that is now being administered in us. God says to us concerning this duty, “he shall reward every man (person)  according to his works” (Matthew 16:27).  Just as a nurse may administer medication for pain to a patient who needs it, we too must “GIVE” to our fellow neighbor this MEDICINE found in I Corinthians 13, called LOVE. This MEDICINE may come in the form of advice, compassion, understanding, or just being there in time of need, our example will be like “MEDICINE” to them. Our attitude may have a positive effect on them, on how they feel and look at life, all of humanity has the pain of SIN.  “A merry heart doeth GOOD LIKE A MEDICINE” Proverbs 17:22.  Also, if they SEE the great hope that is in us it may just have an effect on them so that they may want to take some of this “MEDICINE” that we have been given by “taking two tablets” God’s laws.

In the future we will be rewarded according to how well we have administered this “MEDICATION” unto ourselves and unto others during our present “OCCUPATION.” “And He shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them in his right hand, come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom…. FOR I WAS HUNGERED, AND YE GAVE ME MEAT; I WAS THIRSTY, AND YE GAVE ME DRINK; I WAS A STRANGER, AND YE TOOK ME IN; NAKED AND YE CLOTHED ME; I WAS SICK, AND YE VISITED ME; I WAS IN PRISON AND YE CAME UNTO ME. Then the righteous  answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee a hungered and FED thee? Or thirsty AND GAVE thee drink? When saw we thee A STRANGER, and took thee in? Or naked, and CLOTHED thee? And the King shall say unto them, verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have DONE IT UNTO one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me” Matthew 25:33-40. This we must be doing now in our lives unto others, as God LOVES a cheerful giver (II Corinthians 9:7). The greatest “care” that can be given is SERVING God and SERVING our neighbor. This “caring experience” will be used in “full strength” soon in a time when countless numbers of people will need our help. In the world the greatest affliction is “blindness” (which we all once had) when encountered we cannot take them by the neck and say to them, “What’s wrong with you! Why can’t you see!” Rather seeing  that we were once like that. SO LET’S LOVE OUR FELLOW HUMANS, AND GIVE THEM THE GOOD GIFTS OF GOD!

7) INVESTIGATOR: a licensed professional, that seeks information by searching or examining into a matter, to find the reason behind a problem that needs to be solved.

Last, but not least! For ALL of these careers embody ONE person- YOU, A CHRISTIAN! We are to be as an INVESTIGATOR! YES, YOU! Now do not get excited, and go out and become a licensed private investigator, move to Hawaii, buy a red Ferrari and call yourself Magnum PI. Again I mean this in a spiritual way.

We are told by God Almighty to, “PROVE ALL THINGS” (I Thessalonians 5:21). That is we are to search out everything which may be contrary to the way God sees things, we must investigate all things that “surround” us. We already have ALL the EVIDENCE accumulated into one book, it’s called the Holy Bible. This book shows us the “WAY” things are to be properly DONE and how improperly it’s been done and CONTINUES to be done through SIN. It’s been given for the following, “ALL Scripture is GIVEN by inspiration of God, and it is profitable  for DOCTRINE, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto ALL GOOD WORKS” II Timothy 3:16. All we have to do is to put it all together in order to “SEE” what has transpired, is happening and is going to happen. WE must search and put it all together, “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little there a little.” (Isaiah 28:10)..

We must do as the Bereans did, they were moved to INVESTIGATE THE SCRIPTURES so as to SEE whether those things that were thrown at them were true (Acts 17:11). Jesus Christ himself tells us to, “SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES, for they are which testify of me” John 5:39. He is the one that must guide us to the TRUTH through His Spirit of Truth (John 14:17).  It would be a great mistake for us to put our own human reasoning into anything concerning God for He says, “my thoughts are NOT your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord” Isaiah 5:58. In the past we grew up accepting things because we were taught it, and took no thought of it, we BLINDLY went along with it, but we must not be like that anymore!

In the parable of the sower we are told that the evidence is all around us and those that are against us will  try to interfere with our investigation and the evidence (Mark 4:3-24). We must learn to PROVE all things that are “thrown” at us and others, to see whether they are of God or our ADVERSARY, who is the criminal behind the whole story that affects all of us. The “LAMP” called the Holy Bible,  will show us THE TRUTH about how GOD sees the matter at hand. The primary tool with this task though will be your EAR rather than sight, as strange at it may seem! For Christ said of Himself and the “called”, “And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him; for they KNOW HIS VOICE. A stranger they will not follow, but will flee… for they know not the voice of strangers” John 10:4-5. I congratulate you who have taken up this task and have not follow the ideas of men but are SEEKING  GOD’s will, we must INVESTIGATE as to what and where His TRUTH is. But we cannot stop here, for it lasts the rest of our lives. SO LET’S GET OUT OUR MAGNIFYING GLASSES AND LAMPS TO START SEARCHING FOR ALL THE EVIDENCE AROUND US!

SOME FINAL THOUGHTS:

SO LET’S REMEMBER, IN ORDER TO REACH OUR DESTINATION WE MUST NAVIGATE THROUGH THIS LIFE USING GOD’S LAW OF LOVE. WHICH WILL HELP US TO EXAMINE OURSELVES AS TO WHAT WE REALLY ARE, WHICH IS NEEDED TO BUILD OUR CHARACTER, SO WE MAY BE A LIGHT UNTO THE WORLD. REMEMBER, WE MUST ALWAYS BE ALERT IN ORDER  TO FIGHT ALL SIN. LET’S ALWAYS HAVE COMPASSION ON ONE ANOTHER AND OTHERS NOT OF OUR OWN, AND NEVER FORGET TO PROVE ALL THINGS.
